We are currently seeking a Job Captain for our Silicon Valley studio. The Job Captain, working under the supervision of a Senior Job Captain, Architect, or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, design development, and contract documents. Key responsibilities include: Creating construction documents (CDs) and reviewing them to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, codes, and ADA requirements. For smaller projects, overseeing all CD production and review. Coordinating with senior technical and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas. Managing projects through the contract administration phase. Coordinating engineering consultants' work to ensure compliance and timely submission of documents. Supporting field surveys when necessary. Managing the contract administration budget for assigned projects, ensuring adherence and informing relevant parties of potential variances. Mentoring junior and intermediate designers, overseeing tasks, and providing feedback. Conducting client interviews to determine technical requirements. Qualifications: Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on corporate interior design projects. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of design principles and standards. Intermediate skills in documentation and field observation. Advanced skills in interior architecture detailing. Proficiency with construction documents and procedures. Knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements. Understanding of space planning requirements. Familiarity with contract administration and documentation. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite. Advanced skills in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Enscape and Adobe Suite preferred. Strong presentation and graphic communication skills. Ability to lead and manage junior staff through authority and expertise.
