ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR-FINANCIAL AID - ( T229185 ) The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an
Associate Director-Financial Aid
who will supervise the front office staff and the athletic scholarship coordinator. This position will be responsible for overall supervision of office staff and training. Assists in development of policies and procedures for department. Assists in the interpretation of federal and state regulations and guidelines, and implements procedures to ensure compliance. Maintains fiscal responsibilities for several state, federal and institutional programs. Serves as liaison between Student Financial Aid and schools at UAB. Provides strong customer service. Coordinates a variety of special and recurring analyses and reports. Coordinates updates of federal reference manuals and records. Provides personal counseling and information concerning financial aid programs to students and parents.
Responsibilities
Supervise front office staff and the athletic scholarship coordinator; oversee office staff and training.
Assist in development of policies and procedures for the department.
Assist in the interpretation of federal and state regulations and guidelines; implement procedures to ensure compliance.

Coordinate a variety of analyses and reports; coordinate updates of federal reference manuals and records.
Provide personal counseling and information concerning financial aid programs to students and parents.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
