for authentic relationships. Role Purpose The Vice President of Operations will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for scaling our operations to support our ambitious growth goals. This role will provide leadership across supply chain, warehousing, logistics, master data and integration functions, driving modernization, efficiency, and operational excellence. The VP will initially serve as the interim supply chain leader, with the mandate to assess, rebuild, and strengthen the supply chain team to meet both current and future needs. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for supply chain, warehousing, logistics, master data and integration functions to achieve operational excellence and support business growth to $1 billion in revenue. Serve as interim supply chain leader, evaluating the current team and processes, and rebuilding the supply chain function with a leader of candidate’s choosing. Implement modern, lean processes to eliminate manual work, increase efficiency, and reduce operational bottlenecks across all departments. Plan and execute the setup of new distribution centers to support geographic and segment expansion and the demands of large national accounts, ensuring high service levels without inflating inventory costs. Optimize inventory management and working capital while maintaining exceptional service levels for customers. Leverage SAP and other technology systems to drive data-driven decision-making, automation, and operational improvements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and servant leadership within the operations team, ensuring alignment with the company’s values. Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure operations are aligned with customer needs and business objectives. Manage external relationships with vendors, logistics providers, and other partners to optimize performance, cost, and service quality. Contribute to the strategic planning process, ensuring operations are aligned with the company’s long-term vision, values, and growth objectives. Required Skills and Experience Proven track record in scaling operations in a distribution company, ideally from $400 million to $1 billion or more. Extensive experience with Lean methodologies, continuous improvement, and change management in a growth environment. Strong background in supply chain management, including forecasting, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and inventory optimization. Expertise in warehousing and logistics, particularly with multi-site distribution networks and expansion into new geographies. Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on servant leadership. Financial acumen to manage operational costs, contribute to budgeting, and drive profitability while scaling. Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, and a proven ability to leverage technology and data analytics for operational efficiency. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a family-owned flat organization. Experience integrating acquisitions, managing complex projects, and driving organizational change.
