What We Need:
We’re hiring a Superintendent II to manage commercial interior construction projects for clients in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. This role oversees the daily field operations of complex projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record managing trade partner teams, solving field challenges in real time, and maintaining excellent communication with clients, design partners, and internal project teams. A thoughtful, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset is critical, along with the ability to mentor less experienced field staff and uphold our culture of safety and professionalism.
What You'll Do:
Role & Responsibilities
General:
Participate in kickoff meetings with PX & team to understand financial goals, relationships, etc.
Host field kickoff meeting with all trade partners & PMs
Manage day to day trade partner/vendor relationships
Manage relationship between site and building management/owner
Participate in closeout meeting and provide feedback on trade partners
Host trade partner gathering for closeout
Technical:
Review construction documents & drawings and fully understand critical path items
Review superintendent binder on Procore, print at their discretion
Site setup - ensure appropriate Redmond branding, safety and wayfinding signage, and PPE is available at all times
Create schedule with PMs - Outbuild
Create 3 week lookaheads in Outbuild
Manage schedule and document schedule claims
Understand labor & GR allocation and track accordingly with PMs
Manage tickets and on-site CO documentation
Fully vet field claims with PM & trade partners before signing tickets
Manage site logistics and deliveries
Draft field RFIs and submit to PMs
Manage progress photos in Procore or Sway
Complete daily logs in Procore
Complete weekly report in Procore
Host weekly toolbox talk on site with all trade partners & document in procore
Host weekly foreman meeting on site to review 3 week and critical items
On-site safety control with guidance/support from Safety Director
Safety training - manage safety documentation and first responder steps on site, with guidance/support from Safety Director
Communicate with Warehouse for site deliveries and train on inventory system when implemented
Coordinate, update & complete punch list
What You'll Bring:
5-10 years of experience as a commercial interior Superintendent
Proven ability to manage highly detailed corporate interior projects
Professional communication skills with project partners and clients
Experience with high-rise commercial tenant improvement work (required)
Ability to identify potential issues during preconstruction and early project stages, and resolve them collaboratively, proactively, and openly
Comfortable pitching and interviewing for new client work
Ability to provide mentorship and support to junior team members
