The Parker E-ACT Academy is seeking a Head of Business to provide day-to-day leadership for the Business/ICT department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning outcomes aligned to the Academy’s strategic plan. Job Title: Head of Business Location: The Parker Academy We are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Business to provide day-to-day leadership for the department and be accountable for the quality of teaching, learning and educational outcomes in line with the Academy’s strategic plan.

Provide day-to-day leadership for the development and management of teaching within your area

Identify areas for development and improvement linked to the Academy improvement plan, SEF, national and local initiatives

Develop and monitor schemes of work for your area across the academy in liaison with the department to meet curriculum requirements and reflect student needs

Oversee and contribute to planning and delivery of CPD and training related to your area

Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and achievement against targets in your area

Qualifications and Skills Qualified teacher status or recognised equivalent

Degree in subject specialism

Proven successful leadership within a similar setting

Proven successful mentoring/coaching of colleagues

Degree in a relevant subject Essential

5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) Essential

Skills Effective use of assessment data to inform teaching and raise standards

Ability to encourage students in developing self-esteem and respect for others

Ability to manage pupil behaviour and create a safe environment

Proven record of outstanding classroom practice

Experience of supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students

Ability to teach ‘good or outstanding’ lessons

Proven success in improving student outcomes
