Overview
St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School, Alexandria, VA, United States, seeks an Upper School Technology Coordinator for the 2025-2026 academic year. This full-time role blends teaching and leadership to empower students and educators in a technology-rich learning environment. The position includes responsibilities split between technology integration, curriculum support, and instructional leadership, with a BYOD laptop program in place. Design and teach engaging technology-focused courses, including computer science, programming, and digital media literacy, adapting the curriculum to meet student needs and school priorities. Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to develop and implement technology-rich learning experiences that enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration. Provide comprehensive support to faculty in using technology effectively, including lesson planning, co-teaching, troubleshooting technical issues, and curating relevant digital resources. Contribute to the school’s strategic technology vision by partnering with administrators and the Tech Team to ensure technology integration aligns with school-wide goals and best practices in educational technology. Supervise the MERIT team, a group of faculty technology liaisons who help design and deliver digital citizenship lessons. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Teaching expertise in technology, computer science, or related fields, with experience engaging high school students in meaningful and innovative learning experiences. Strong understanding of instructional technology tools, platforms, and best practices for curriculum integration. Commitment to equity and inclusion, ensuring all learners and colleagues feel valued and supported. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) and familiarity with 3D modeling tools, robotics platforms, and technical computing software. Experience in coaching or leading professional development for educators, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to support students in a BYOD environment, including troubleshooting common software and hardware issues. Experience with or interest in maintaining and managing technical equipment and classroom resources. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with students, teachers, and administrators. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with rapid prototyping and fabrication tools (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters). Familiarity with current educational technology tools and platforms. Proven track record of designing and implementing engaging, project-based learning experiences. About the School
