SDE II In Amazon Management Experiences

As an SDE II in Amazon Management Experiences (AMX) Manager Hub team, you will lead cross-functional projects spanning applied science, front end, and backend engineering disciplines. You will build infrastructure and user experiences that deliver insights to Amazonians to help them complete talent management processes more efficiently and equitably. You will be hands on while also leading other individual contributors to define and deliver on a roadmap that works backwards from our three year and operational plans. You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining high quality, operationally sound software with strong controls around data security and privacy. Key job responsibilities include: Write, maintain, and test code to advance in-flight projects. Design systems to solve Amazon scale problems and present design documents. Attend team-level operations review meetings to understand system health. Meet with customers to understand problems, brainstorm solutions, and discuss team priorities. Review teammate's code changes and provide insightful comments. Research new technologies to simplify team's systems and draft messages to the team. Root cause and resolve trouble tickets filed by customers. Attend one-to-one meetings with your manager for support and career development. A day in the life involves architecting and building robust solutions that power critical business initiatives. You will participate in technical design discussions, write and review code, and optimize existing solutions for performance and reliability. You will dive deep into production issues, implement solutions that enhance system stability, and build new capabilities into our platforms. Cross-team collaboration is key, as you will work closely with various teams to maintain system requirements and optimize workflows. Within Amazon Management Experiences (AMX), this role contributes to delivering leadership experiences and career development tools that serve all Amazonians globally. As part of a 1,400+ person organization, the position supports AMX's mission to enhance leadership capabilities and career growth across Amazon's diverse business units. The team leverages enterprise-scale technology solutions and collaborates across multiple domains to create and maintain systems that impact employee development, leadership effectiveness, and organizational health. Basic qualifications include: 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. Preferred qualifications include: 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
