A leading global infrastructure company is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking
Enterprise Architect Consultant
to join its IT leadership team. This key role will drive the design and evolution of enterprise-level software, infrastructure, and data solutions-ensuring alignment with architectural standards, cybersecurity protocols, and strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders, guiding high-impact IT projects and fostering architectural excellence across domains including cloud, cybersecurity, application development, and systems integration.
This position offers the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide technology strategies in a highly collaborative environment while contributing to cutting-edge innovation and long-term scalability initiatives.
Location: Hybrid in Houston, TX (downtown area) Compensation
Long term hourly W2 consulting position including health/dental/vision benefits, 401k with match, holidays, sick days (high potential for conversion)
Primary Responsibilities
Partner with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and future-ready technology solutions, initially focusing on Asset Management, Identity Access Management (IAM), and IT/OT integration standards.
Lead and mature the Architectural Review Board to ensure that solutions adhere to enterprise standards and best practices across the organization.
Collaborate with domain architects to create and maintain technical roadmaps, governance frameworks, and enterprise architecture documentation.
Assess emerging technologies, perform vendor evaluations, and guide proof-of-concept initiatives to inform IT strategy and adoption plans.
Provide architectural oversight for solution implementations to ensure alignment with enterprise cybersecurity, infrastructure, and network standards.
Influence enterprise-wide architectural decisions while working closely with business leaders and technical teams to align technology with operational objectives.
Maintain architectural alignment with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) efforts.
Act as a thought leader, providing guidance and mentorship on complex technical decisions and driving innovation across IT functions.
Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; Master`s or MBA preferred
12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, solution design, and IT leadership
Proven ability to architect solutions across software development, infrastructure, data, and cybersecurity domains
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), enterprise data technologies, and reporting tools such as Power BI
Deep understanding of enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF (required), and familiarity with APQC, COBIT, and ITIL (preferred)
Strong knowledge of IT service management, architecture frameworks, and risk/compliance methodologies
Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical topics to both executive leadership and non-technical audiences
Proficiency in creating enterprise architecture assets such as solution blueprints, roadmaps, and technical documentation
Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred
