AlphaHire is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Cytotechnologist

to join a respected pathology and diagnostics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for examining cell samples under a microscope to detect abnormalities, infections, and early signs of cancer. This role requires precision, critical thinking, and a deep commitment to laboratory excellence and patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Microscopically evaluate gynecologic (GYN) and non-gynecologic (non-GYN) specimens to identify cellular abnormalities Accurately screen and diagnose Pap smears in accordance with CAP and CLIA guidelines Assist pathologists in diagnosing complex or challenging cases by preparing preliminary findings Maintain accurate documentation and reporting through the laboratory information system (LIS) Ensure quality control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance in all cytology procedures Participate in laboratory improvement processes and continuing education initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related biological science Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program Current certification by ASCP (CT) or eligibility to obtain certification 1+ years of experience in cytology preferred (new grads welcome with strong clinical performance) Knowledge of ThinPrep, SurePath, and other liquid-based cytology methods Strong attention to detail, visual acuity, and ability to work independently Familiarity with LIS systems and digital pathology tools is a plus Preferred Qualifications Experience with FNA (fine needle aspiration) assistance or rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE) Cross-training in histology or molecular diagnostics Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish/English) are a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Full medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off, holidays, and continuing education allowance Retirement plan with employer match Opportunities for growth in a collaborative laboratory setting
