Job Description:
The Cytotechnologist will prepare, screen, and interpret a variety of cytology cases while ensuring accuracy and quality in patient care.
Responsibilities: Prepare, screen, and interpret Gynecological cytology (ThinPrep) and Non-Gynecological cytology (urine, body fluids, CSF, FNA, bronchial specimens). Perform ancillary Pap testing, including molecular analysis for HPV and CT/NG. Assist with FNA procedures and provide rapid on-site evaluations. Enter interpretations into computer systems with accuracy. Maintain proficiency testing standards and assist with quality assurance. Communicate effectively with pathologists, coworkers, and clients.
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree and completion of a cytotechnology training program. ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist required. Florida Cytotechnologist license required. 5+ years of cytology experience preferred. Strong independent work ability and attention to detail. Physical requirements: ability to discern color, use microscopes, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with laboratory chemicals.
