Freelance Senior Women’s Technical Designer
to join their team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $45/hr -$50/hr Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Freelance Senior Women’s Technical Designer with a strong background in women's woven apparel. This role will be responsible for ensuring the fit, quality, and construction of our woven garments align with brand standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in technical design, strong communication skills, and a collaborative energy. Responsibilities of the Freelance Senior Women’s Technical Designer:
Own technical development from concept to production for all women’s woven categories (dresses, blouses, pants, skirts, etc.).
Lead fit sessions on live models and mannequins and clearly articulate fit corrections and construction changes.
Create and maintain accurate technical packages, including measurements, construction details, and BOMs.
Communicate fit and construction comments to overseas factories in a clear and timely manner.
Ensure all samples meet required fit, construction, and brand standards prior to approvals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product development, sourcing, and production teams.
Analyze returns and customer feedback to inform fit and quality improvement.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Senior Women’s Technical Designer:
6 years of experience in technical design, preferably in women's wear.
Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and grading.
Strong flat sketching and technical illustration skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must have experience working with overseas vendors and an understanding of global fit processes.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Senior Women’s Technical Designer:
Experience working with factories and vendors.
Proficient in Excel and PLM.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
