Position: Perfusionist Location: Primarily Glenbrook Hospital (Must be flexible to travel to all Endeavor Sites: Evanston, Skokie, Glenview, Highland Park, Swedish Hospital-Chicago, Northwest Community Hospital-Arlington Heights) Employment type: Full-time Hours: 40 hours On Call: 10-12 days per month What You Will Need
Education: Graduate of an accredited Perfusion Program Certification: Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and licensed by the State of Illinois What You Will Do
Provide cardiopulmonary and circulatory support during procedures requiring extracorporeal circulation. Monitor physiologic variables and manage perfusion equipment to support or replace cardiopulmonary function. Develop and modify techniques for complex cardiac procedures (e.g., LVAD, DHCA, bridge to transplant) and perform associated perioperative responsibilities. Perform blood conservation/autotransfusion techniques Provide anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring and analysis Monitor blood gases and chemistry; manage induction with temperature modulation as needed Assist with electrophysiologic analysis and dialysis access during CPB Contribute to documentation and participate in regular, patient-centered decision making Advise and counsel medical, professional, and technical colleagues on perfusion-related issues Benefits
