Job DescriptionJob Description Role Overview

Step into a planning role where engineering data meets shop-floor execution. As our ERP/MRP Production Planning Specialist, you’ll turn Engineering Parts Lists (EPL), drawings, and the Manufacturing Plan into accurate travelers and timely material buys—keeping projects on schedule and teams aligned.

A Day in the Role

You begin by reviewing the latest EPL and drawings, translating them into travelers and requisitions in the ERP/MRP system. You check open purchase orders, call a supplier about an RFQ response, and work with Purchasing to confirm delivery dates. Mid-morning, you sync with Quality Assurance to close out a traveler discrepancy. After lunch, you huddle with the shop manager and an engineer to unblock a delay, then update production data and status so leadership has a clear picture. Before you wrap, you brief your supervisor on progress, issues, and workload.

Develop travelers and procure materials in alignment with the Manufacturing Plan, EPL, and engineering drawings.

Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve traveler and purchase order issues; work closely with Purchasing to ensure on-time receipts.

Collaborate with the shop manager and engineers to address schedule risks and eliminate delays.

Engage vendors on RFQs, materials questions, and purchase-order follow-up.

Coordinate across engineering, QA, QC, operations, mechanics, and purchasing to drive synchronized execution.

Use ERP/MRP tools to generate travelers and requisitions, and to maintain accurate production data.

Keep your supervisor informed of status, workload, obstacles, and progress.
