This opportunity supports HDR’s Colorado Area Water Business Group (WBG) leadership, focusing on growth and development in the Colorado wastewater market, including wastewater treatment and effluent management, pump stations and pipelines, biosolids, and One Water collaboration. Primary Responsibilities

Lead growth and development in the Colorado wastewater market as Area Wastewater Market Sector Lead within HDR’s Water Business Group. Responsibilities include advancing business development strategies, pursuing new clients and projects, client management, project management for key projects, and providing technical input. The role involves staff development and collaboration with technical and marketing staff to pursue new projects, taking a leadership role in selected pursuits, and serving as client manager for key clients, addressing client issues, and coordinating multiple projects. Within the Wastewater Market Sector, the leader will drive strategic initiatives for growth, coordinate best practices and high-quality services, and enhance HDR’s brand in the marketplace. Specific attention is required to engage employees across the region while reinforcing HDR’s image with clients and Wastewater markets. Business Development Responsibilities

Incorporate HDR Water Business Group vision with the market sector and translate national market drivers into area strategies to capture new opportunities. Collaborate with local departments on premarketing and relationship development with targeted clients to position HDR for long-term opportunities. Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the Area and engage in industry activities (professional organizations, conference presentations, client development workshops). Promote HDR services to Wastewater clients within the Area and participate as a member of the Colorado Area Water Business Group Leadership Team. Develop Area market sector initiatives with the Area Water Business Group Manager and Area Business Development Manager; deploy pursuit strategies and support client relationship development and pursuit processes. Lead cross-sector collaborations (e.g., One Water, climate resiliency, sustainability, carbon management) to capitalize on market opportunities. Identify investments to maintain HDR’s leadership position and monitor marketing capabilities to support the Area’s goals. Develop relationships with industry counterparts and with senior leadership in key client organizations. Staff Development Responsibilities

Enhance practices to win new work and provide growth opportunities for staff; strategically assign projects to develop skills and mentor Wastewater staff. Identify recruitment needs and support talent management and recruiting efforts for the area. Coordinate with Central region and HDR leadership to drive technical excellence and deliver quality that supports HDR’s Drive to Zero initiative. Support to Key Program/Project Delivery

Assist Area leadership in project delivery, drive client management, and support QA/QC for successful outcomes. Facilitate collaboration, remove barriers to success, and implement process improvements with Water Business Group leadership. Monitor staff workload and promote effective use of resources; assist in contract reviews to manage risk, staffing, and quality. Engage in the PARR process and promote QA/QC; share lessons learned. Take on Project Management and Principal in Charge assignments to drive client satisfaction, staff development, technical excellence, and mentoring opportunities. #LI-MV3 Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, planning or a related field Minimum of 10 years of industry experience Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services Experience in developing and managing a wide range of client relationships and pursuit of programs/projects Experience in staff development, recruiting, career path planning Active involvement with industry associations and a visible market sector profile Ability to collaborate with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional/Area leadership Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and to the employee-owned culture What We Believe & Our Commitment
