About the Role
The Sales Strategy team, part of the Client Coverage group within S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI), drives revenue opportunities through acquiring new customers, expanding into new client segments, and enhancing relationships with existing clients. The role leads the Sales Strategy team, partnering with SPDJI leadership to define and execute the sales and retention strategy, leveraging a global campaign framework and ensuring consistent messaging internally and externally. Reporting to the Americas Head of Sales, the Head of Sales Strategy oversees the execution of sales strategies and performance against targets, and designs and implements sales campaigns to enhance market penetration. This position offers an opportunity to influence the team to translate insights from internal partners into actionable strategies that drive revenue. Responsibilities
Partner with SPDJI leadership to define the sales and retention strategy, aligned with the Global commercial strategy. Develop and execute the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy for new products and services. Supervise and report on the execution of sales strategy and performance against targets, adjusting where needed. Provide clear and actionable reporting to senior management on delivery to plan, with review and evaluation of launches to drive improvement and transparency. Design and implement effective sales campaigns to enhance market penetration. Oversee lead generation efforts and optimize conversion processes. Manage relationships with data vendors and strategic partners to maximize value and visibility. Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitive advantages. Serve as a focal point for product communication and knowledge sharing, organizing forums to achieve this. Ensure sales teams understand the top-level SPDJI strategy and the capabilities offered to diverse customers. Lead client planning approaches, mapping key customers and decision-makers, and mobilizing against this map using tools such as Salesforce. Lead the Sales Strategy team to achieve sales targets and foster a high-performance culture. Collaborate with internal teams (client coverage, product management, marketing) to align offerings with client needs. Engage with clients and industry stakeholders to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement. Key Skills & Experience
Proven management experience applying sales process knowledge, product knowledge, and industry insight to increase sales and differentiate the brand. Deep understanding of SPDJI’s value proposition to client segments and the index data and analytics industry. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, consultative sales, and excellent communication skills. Ability to manage cross-functional teams and build strategic partnerships. Experience conducting market analysis to inform decision-making. Over 10 years of proven success in revenue generation roles, preferably in financial services or index data sectors. Bachelor’s degree; relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are favorable. Languages required: English. Flexible Working

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $235,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
