This job description describes a Principal Consultant, Ag-Tech role with Mackinnon Bruce International in the Digital Farming sector. Location: Remote.

Overview We are working alongside our client in the Digital Farming sector headquartered in Indiana to hire a Digital Agronomy Business Development Manager for their digital farming service.

The Client Our client is an established Ag-Tech company providing actionable crop intelligence and agronomic data to help growers increase yields and reduce costs.

The Role You will create and develop business with Ag retailers, manufacturers, equipment vendors, and farmers, identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities. You will maintain key accounts and help our client’s customers best utilize the product. You will travel within the territory to engage with Ag retailers and growers to explain, demonstrate, and troubleshoot products. You will grow the business within the territory while maintaining partnerships with existing customers. You will demonstrate strong business acumen, learning agility, and an understanding of the agricultural business. You will contribute directly to the expansion of a leading ag tech business in a self-starting, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Work with a versatile set of partners including farmers, seed dealers, ag retailers, and more; develop strong relationships with influential ag personnel.

Travel throughout territory to visit Ag retailers and growers; explain, demonstrate, and troubleshoot products.

Grow the business within the territory while maintaining existing customer partnerships.

Demonstrate strong business acumen and understanding of the ag industry; contribute to strategic initiatives.

Provide prompt, courteous service and act as a single point of contact for ongoing customer needs, including inquiries during the purchasing process.

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience in selling into the Ag-Retail industry.

Humility and willingness to learn.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Curiosity and ability to understand bespoke needs.

Business acumen and consultative selling skills; comfortable in both sales and service cycles.

Basic farming knowledge.

Salary $100,000 Basic Salary + Uncapped Commission + Equity
