Job Description The Corporate Responsibility Regional Manager at MDW serves as a strategic connector between Southwest Airlines and the Chicago community, building authentic relationships across civic, government, and private sectors. With an approach tailored to the region’s needs, this role drives meaningful engagement and community investment that aligns with Southwest’s business goals while mitigating risk and enhancing Brand awareness. The Manager provides strategic counsel across the enterprise and activates high-impact opportunities to foster goodwill, strengthen Southwest’s Chicago presence, and create a lasting impact in this key market.
Responsibilities
Build a network of community stakeholders to grow the Southwest brand among trade, civic, philanthropic, advocacy, and resource organizations
Develop positive strategic relationships with community influencers and identify opportunities as needed
Demonstrate financial stewardship in planning and oversight of the Corporate Responsibility budget and ethical use of company resources
Engage with officials, thought leaders, and community partners to build long-term relationships
Identify strategic opportunities, assess partnerships, and oversee launch of related events
Represent the company at outside meetings and events with community organizations and elected officials
Create strategic plans for allocating Corporate Responsibility resources and advise the business on engagement timing
Drive innovation to keep community outreach relevant and support inclusion goals
Guide Leadership Engagement strategy development and implementation
Facilitate cross-departmental conversations and projects
May perform other duties as directed by leadership
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques
Knowledge of customer service principles and evaluating customer satisfaction
Knowledge of strategic planning and resource allocation
Knowledge of historical events and their impact on communities
Ability to solve problems creatively and collaboratively
Ability to understand and apply information to the organizational strategy
Strong listening and communication skills
Ability to generate innovative ideas and creative solutions
Ability to recognize potential issues and take action accordingly
Ability to negotiate contracts and measure outcomes
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Advanced-level experience in relationships management and corporate social responsibility
Experience in community outreach
Licensing/Certification
N/A
Physical Abilities
Ability to work from a designated location and travel as required
Ability to communicate in English and use a computer and office tools effectively
Other Qualifications
Must be able to travel and work nights and weekends as required
Maintain a professional appearance per company guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States
Must be at least 18 years old
Must comply with attendance standards
Pay & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $100,700 - $111,900 per year, with potential bonuses for leadership and eligible roles
