Job Title: Principal Operational Engineer – AWS & Amazon Connect Location: Remote (U.S.) (must be sitting in CST or EST) Salary Range: $105 an hour via w2. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Operational Engineer with deep expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and Amazon Connect. This senior-level role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based solutions while providing technical leadership across teams. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on engineer and a strategic thinker who thrives in complex environments. Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 8+ years of cloud engineering experience, with at least 5 focused on AWS Extensive expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC) Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Connect and related services (Amazon Lex, Polly, etc.) Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform) Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Strong understanding of networking concepts and cloud security best practices AWS Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar) Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field Experience with multi-cloud strategies (Azure, GCP) Familiarity with AI/ML services in AWS Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools Experience with Agile methodologies and project management practices Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of complex AWS architectures, with a strong focus on Amazon Connect for contact center operations Establish and maintain best practices for cloud operations, security, and cost optimization Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of AWS services and Amazon Connect with existing systems Oversee performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployments Design and test disaster recovery and business continuity strategies Stay up to date with the latest AWS services and features Troubleshoot complex issues and deliver high-level technical support for critical systems Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, architectures, and processes Personal Qualities
