Overview The Big Picture:
The Automation Engineering Leader will be responsible for leading and developing the automation team within Alliance Laundry System LLC. This will involve onsite development and implementation as well as program management of vendor-provided solutions. Resolution of day-to-day reliability activities can escalate to this team but they are not the first line responders.
Responsibilities
Grow and Develop a Team of Automation and Controls Engineers
Lead electrical engineering controls and automation projects to ensure standards are followed.
Provide technical expertise and input into reliability issues for factory systems: PLC, HMI, Andon’s, variable speed control, servo motion control, etc. to maximize plant efficiency and reliability.
Provide leadership in the management of software modification and optimizing programming and maintains all records.
Participate in establishing company best practices and standards for electrical engineering, controls, automation, Industry 4.0, and IOT.
Participate in cross-plant improvement teams. Develop strong partnerships with plant manufacturing, corporate engineering and union workforce. Support root cause analysis on electrical, instrumentation and control issues.
Develop plan/process for software support to maximize effectiveness of the operation.
Qualifications What you need to bring to the table:
Education and Experience:
BS in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical / Manufacturing or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience.
Demonstrated leadership of project teams.
First-hand experience delivering electrical, controls and automation capital projects within a manufacturing and assembly environment.
Robot integration experience.
Proven leadership experience in Project Management of electrical / controls and automation systems.
Software / PLC programming knowledge desired, AB as core competency with Siemens exposure.
Experience in planning and implementing Andon, Industry 4.0, and IOT systems. Prior experience with Ignition is preferred.
Guarding and safety experience.
Risk assessments analysis.
Understand and use hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and detailed mechanical drawings as related to electrical controls.
Knowledge in AutoCAD, Creo, and Fusion desired.
