Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (www.atrcorp.com) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer in Bethesda, MD. Location: Bethesda, MD. Type: Full-Time. Experience: Mid-Level. Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 USD per year. ATR is an equal-opportunity engineering company with a solid reputation in various engineering disciplines for government and Fortune 500 customers. Principal Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as an Engineer on site at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Bethesda, MD. You will work on world-class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology. The applicant will be involved in software development for Target strength naval application. Specifically, the applicant duties will include: Refactor existing target strength software applications and user interfaces Ensure proper testing, validation, and verification of software Maintain proper configuration control and documentation Provide technical assistance in the analysis of target strength acoustics Assist team members and project managers as needed
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Advanced Degree preferred 2-3 years of experience in software development required Job experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus
Skills & Abilities Requirements
Knowledge of engineering and physics related to target strength acoustics Experience working in C/C++, FORTRAN and/or object-oriented software Experience with version control software Experience with MATLAB or LabVIEW is a plus Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing A self-starter able to work on tasks individually or as part of a team
Other Requirements
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation a plus.
