Overview
Senior Construction Project Manager at Equinix. Part of the Global Design and Construction team (over 200 people) delivering over 70 projects globally per year (in excess of $2B capex). Directs day-to-day activities of a team of Construction/Operations Project Managers. Responsible for project inception through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand-over of data center facilities (ground up, fit-outs, remodels, etc.). May manage one or more smaller projects or a single large project and coordinates internal and external partners to meet schedules and goals. Responsibilities
Provides guidance to Construction/Operations Project Managers responsible for day-to-day delivery Manage multiple smaller projects or a single larger project Lead by example on safety, standards, and culture Monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with building regulations Ensure projects meet or exceed company expectations Oversee and manage project risk registers Lead internal stakeholders in developing new data center projects from concept to business approval Direct external vendors per project (general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers) Contribute to establishing and maintaining high-value relationships Identify and develop training programs; support cross-functional training Manage contract administration procedures (generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and related documents) Liaise with local authorities and relevant State agencies Direct internal and external project teams (Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial, IT/Network) and mentor junior team members Develop and maintain policies and procedures; manage project closure, handover and lessons learned Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering, construction project management, or related field 10+ years of construction project management experience including critical infrastructure for data centers, pharmaceutical, biotech or similar environments This position will be filled in Miami. Must be able to be in the office and/or on job sites a minimum of 3 days per week Customer-focused; self-motivated and flexible In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practices Experienced in construction procurement methodologies Preferred: proficiency with Microsoft Project; experience developing new data center projects; experience leading an internal cross-functional team Location and Pay
The targeted pay range for this position in the Miami location is $136,000 - $204,000 USD per year. Pay ranges reflect minimum and maximum targets for new hire pay and may be updated based on business needs. Base pay excludes bonus, equity, or benefits.
