This position is for a
Director of Engineering
to lead a high-performing design and engineering team in a dynamic modular construction environment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing project delivery from concept through production, managing schematic designs, drawing sets, fabrication documentation, and ensuring successful project execution. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and proactive leader passionate about solving complex design challenges. Qualifications
Minimum 6 years of experience in the modular construction industry with strong knowledge of architectural and commercial building practices 6+ years directly managing design and/or engineering teams Hands-on experience with both BIM and CAD software applications (minimum 6 years) Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with cross-functional team collaboration Strong understanding of modular systems, architectural design, and manufacturing processes Familiarity with 3D modeling for architectural building components Knowledge of DfMA principles and BIM workflow Strong project management and analytical skills Proven leadership and ability to build and manage high-performing teams Effective communicator with the ability to work across departments and with external stakeholders Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) ERP workflow understanding a plus Experience with Navisworks, BIM360, Lumion, Chief Architect, Tekla, Procore, Solidworks, SketchUp, Rhino, Dynamo, and Grasshopper is a plus Relevant education in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering communications across internal and external teams Manage team KPIs to meet fast-paced customer demands Build and develop collaborative, high-performance engineering teams across multiple locations Implement responsive and flexible processes to meet evolving project needs Maintain a Master Engineering Calendar to coordinate drawing sets, submittals, and deadlines Establish and manage partnerships with third-party service providers Collaborate with design and regulatory professionals to ensure compliance and efficiency Oversee the development of 2D/3D CAD/BIM drawings and enforce team standards Generate material orders and collaborate with Operations as needed Maintain accurate project records and drawing documentation throughout the project lifecycle Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Project Management, Procurement, Sales, Production, and Clients Contribute innovative design solutions aligned with client needs and project goals Seniority level
