Job Summary Performs repair and maintenance activities on equipment at field sites. Operates and maintains digital and analog electronic devices and troubleshoots assemblies to the component level. Installs, assembles and modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of Electrical Engineer. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Sets up, installs and initiates operation of equipment at a field installation

Adjusts, aligns and modifies circuitry and components to analyze, interpret and record effects on unit performance

Creates technical reports and develops charts and graphs to describe system operating characteristics and deviations from design specifications affecting system design for engineering consideration

Identifies and analyzes malfunctions in operational equipment

Performs testing, troubleshooting and repair activities for continued operation and maintained equipment

Utilizes a variety of electronic measuring devices, test equipment, functional block diagram down to sub system level, schematics, wiring diagrams and maintenance manuals to rework and repair in order to maintain equipment

Maintains records and logs of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements

Consults with company engineering personnel to determine solutions to unusual problems in system operation and maintenance

Initiates modification or replacement of equipment, which fails to meet acceptable operating standards

May provide instruction to other engineers in testing, repair and maintenance activities to obtain optimum operating performance

Interface with customer agency in a professional manner during operational meetings and monthly performance meetings reviewing equipment and service trends

Ability to perform site surveys for change notices and supervise installation of equipment at a field site

Manage long term projects involving coordination with subcontractors and agency customer

May serve as Lead and performs other related duties as required

Assumes additional technical responsibilities as needed. Serves as team lead and assumes additional technical and leadership responsibilities as needed to solve engineering problems or develop improved engineering processes

Minimum Job Requirements

Two year college degree, or equivalent, in electronics, computer science, and/or related technical school, preferred.

Minimum of six years' related electronics field technician experience desired.

Knowledge of fare collections devices desired.

Ability to comply with Company standard practice as it applies to field.

Detail-oriented, ability to communicate effectively and perform routine installation and maintenance campaigns.

Ability to adapt to remote field sites.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to interface with all levels of personnel.

Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Ability to work in hectic and noisy environments.

Valid driver license required with satisfactory driving record.

Must be able to pass background check and motor vehicle record check.

Pay Range:

$30.00 - $35.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
