Overview: VTG is seeking an Aegis Field Service Technician.
What will you do?
Personnel will be tasked with supporting (EHF) Extremely High Frequency and AEGIS Weapon Systems. Conduct engineering changes and provide technical support. Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Takes the necessary steps to diagnose and repair technical problems. Support alterations to existing combat systems to include installation, integration, interface, and activation of new equipment with existing equipment or systems specifically by identifying integration and switching requirements and performing testing to validate equipment functionality. Responsibilities center around the installation, testing, and repair of Aegis systems. Refer to equipment drawings, wire connection lists, and installation control drawings.
Do you have what it takes?
5+ years of experience onboard an AEGIS Platform, with experience as an AEGIS Combat System Maintenance Manager (CSMM)
Experience repairing/maintaining electrical, mechanical, and electronics equipment
Ability to read and interpret equipment upgrade/repair instructions
Shipboard electrical and mechanical hardware knowledge
Technical Training in Naval electronics and communications equipment and systems
Class A military school in electronics or communications, ET specialist in US Navy
This position requires an active Secret clearance
VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $27/hr - $39/hr, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations, and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
