The Head of Access Services and Marketing Librarian provides leadershipand guidance for a suite of services including circulation, course reserves,stack maintenance, copyright guidance and interlibrary loan. This position alsoleads the library's marketing efforts including serving as liaison between thelibrary and campus marketing. Under the direct supervision of the LibraryDirector, the position supervises 3 Checkout & Reserves and 1 InterlibraryLoan staff. Schedule includes some evening and weekend hours.
OVERVIEW AND ROLE SCOPE OF TEAM AND/OR TASKS • Oversees a suite of services including circulation, course reserves, stack maintenance, copyright guidance and interlibrary loan. • Supervises 4 staff including providing employee feedback and performance review. • Oversees collecting departmental statistics; compiles, analyzes and reports stats. • Plans, coordinates and implements library marketing activities. • Collaborates with campus marketing to produce library print and digital promotional materials. • Provides support for library events and workshops. • Oversees library social media accounts; creates content and interacts with users to increase engagement. • Provides reference services through various modalities including in-person, chat, video, phone and e-mail. • Participates in collection development as liaison and selector to assigned academic departments. • Serves on library, campus or consortial committees, as assigned. • Other related duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE FOR RIGHT FIT • Master's degree from an ALA accredited library or information science program. • 3 years demonstrated successful supervisory experience. • Exhibits professionalism and superior customer service disposition. • Ability to collaborate and function both as a team member and a team leader. • Strong leadership and managerial skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. • Ability to compromise and balance department needs with those of the library or campus. • Marketing experience is preferred. • Access Services and/or Interlibrary Loan experience is preferred. • Knowledge of circulation and interlibrary loan systems and procedures is preferred. • Knowledge of copyright laws and fair use as it applies to course reserves is preferred.
