Job Title: Senior Hardware Electrical Engineer - High Circuit Design The Senior Electrical Engineer in Ultrasound Diagnostic R&D, specializing in motherboard design and high-speed circuit design, is responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing motherboard systems with a focus on high-speed interfaces, such as PCIe communication, and signal integrity for advanced ultrasound diagnostic systems. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-performance, and reliable electronic solutions that meet the rigorous demands of medical imaging devices. Your Role: Motherboard Architecture: Design and develop complex motherboard systems for ultrasound diagnostic systems, integrating high-speed processors, memory, and peripheral interfaces while ensuring scalability and reliability. High-Speed Circuit Design: Architect high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits, including PCIe interfaces, to enable high-bandwidth data transfer between ultrasound transducers, processing units, and other system components. Signal Integrity: Perform/review signal integrity analysis and optimization, including impedance matching, crosstalk mitigation, and timing analysis, to ensure robust performance of high-speed circuits. PCIe Communication: Design and implement PCIe-based communication systems, optimizing for low latency, high throughput, and compatibility with ultrasound system requirements. System Integration: Collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical teams to integrate motherboard into Ultrasound system, optimizing for dimension, thermal performance, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Verification: Design and execute verification plan to verify motherboard performance, including efficiency, thermal management, and reliability under various operating conditions. Prototyping and Debugging: Build and test prototypes, diagnose and resolve issues related to high-speed circuits and motherboard functionality, and implement design improvements. Resolves advanced and multifaceted technical issues across hardware, software, and other technical components, employing sophisticated problem-solving skills to address and prevent production downtime effectively. Evaluates and approves high-potential components and technologies from external vendors and suppliers, ensuring they meet Philips' rigorous quality, performance, and strategic standards. Monitors and critically assesses the performance and reliability of complex systems and components, proactively identifying and leading initiatives to optimize product performance, lifecycle, and user experience. Ensures strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards, fostering a culture of compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Presents comprehensive and persuasive technical findings, design proposals, and project updates to senior stakeholders and executive management, effectively communicating complex engineering concepts and their strategic implications. Provides expert mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and technical mastery within the team. Implements and refines advanced engineering best practices and methodologies, driving significant process improvements to enhance efficiency, innovation, and accelerate time-to-market for new products. Assesses and integrates actionable feedback from rigorous testing, user experience studies, and market trends, continuously refining and enhancing product designs to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, competitive advantage, and market leadership. Cultivates effective relationships with internal/external partners and provides influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating full understanding of engineering specialization within the medical devices sector. You're the right fit if: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred. Experience: 5+ years of experience in motherboard design and high-speed circuit design, with expertise in PCIe communication and signal integrity. Technical Skills: Proficiency in EDA tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics) for schematic design and PCB layout. Technical Skills: Expertise in signal integrity analysis tools and techniques for high-speed design. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of PCIe protocol, timing, and electrical specifications. Technical Skills: Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation and thermal management for high-density motherboard designs. Technical Skills: Familiarity with FPGA integration and embedded systems for ultrasound applications. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams. Soft Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced R&D environment. Soft Skills: Good communication both in English & Chinese. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ultrasound-specific high-speed data acquisition and processing systems. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of medical device regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, NMPA). About Philips We are a health technology company. We built our entire company around the belief that every human matters, and we won't stop until everybody everywhere has access to the quality healthcare that we all deserve.
