Join a market-leading manufacturer of high-performance cooling solutions serving aerospace, defense, alternative energy, and medical sectors. We are seeking a self-driven, technically strong Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer to advance our AM capabilities, support product innovation, and drive continuous improvement in design and production processes. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily AM operations, including equipment safety, operator training, maintenance, material planning, and meeting design, cost, and quality goals. Evaluate and implement CAD software optimized for additive manufacturing. Collaborate with design engineers and customers to create innovative, AM-optimized product designs. Manage end-to-end development of AM parts, from CAD modeling through printing, post-processing, and metallurgical qualification. Author technical documentation including qualification test plans, reports, and AM design manuals. Develop and maintain FEMAs and control plans to ensure consistent, high-quality output. Train machine operators on safety and operational procedures. Plan and oversee the installation and commissioning of new AM equipment. Investigate and resolve part discrepancies using data-driven root cause analysis. Improve and develop post-processing methods. Support manufacturing teams in troubleshooting and optimizing processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost and labor while enhancing product quality. Conduct R&D aligned with company strategy and report on AM industry trends and their strategic impact. Represent and promote AM capabilities at industry conferences and with customers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science. Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must pass an OSHA Respirator Fit Test (provided by employer). Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in a production 3D printing environment. Experience with DMLS design, operation, and post-processing. Familiarity with simulation and topology optimization tools (e.g., Netfabb, nTopology, EOSprint). Background in military or aerospace product design. Experience developing Design of Experiments (DOEs). Exposure to conventional manufacturing methods such as machining, brazing, welding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, or testing.
