Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Aerospace At Parker Aerospace, we develop technologies and innovative solutions that enable reliable, efficient and increasingly sustainable flight for the lifecycle of the aircraft, including aftermarket support. Our team of engineers collaborates to create innovative technologies and products that address the world’s most pressing engineering challenges. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers within a single manufacturing site or multiple production lines of a larger site, overseeing design implementation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment. This position may oversee the development and approval of capital budgets and programs within a single facility and typically reports to site level engineering or operations leadership. The role has supervisory responsibilities for direct reports and guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports. Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Flow – Oversees the planning and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling. Develops and manages a portfolio of project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful completion of projects. Collaborates with cross-functional leadership teams (design, quality, supply chain) to improve manufacturing processes. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and company policies in the manufacturing process. Process Improvement – Develops and implements strategies to drive innovation and improve manufacturing processes and technologies. Identifies, recommends and leads improvement plans that impact site operations. May lead cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives. People Management – Mentors and develops team members, providing guidance and feedback on performance. Ensures staff is trained appropriately to perform assigned work. Manufacturing Systems Planning – Optimizes utilization of manufacturing systems and metrics. Involved in system upgrades and technology selection. Budget & Expense Planning – Leads capital budgeting process and manages capital projects and spending. Determines resource allocation and monitors budget controls within the team. Internal and/or Supplier Interaction – Communicates with Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers and internal customers to define product specifications. Collaborates with Product Engineering, Program Design, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver manufacturing solutions. Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in related Engineering field with 5+ years of experience; advanced degree preferred Advanced technical knowledge to support new product development and complex problems for junior team members Strong project management skills to enhance efficiencies within the team and plant activities Supports development of strategic plans in coordination with senior managers Ensures team/plant maintains consistent execution of manufacturing processes with safety compliance Ability to analyze process flows for quality, cost reduction, and throughput improvements Ability to determine engineering schedules and track completion against target dates Strong leadership and communication skills to articulate and execute a vision Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task with strong prioritization Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers Benefits
