Description:
This is work assisting lawyers in the Children’s Legal Services program with data entry into statewide database to insure compliance and funding on dependency cases. This is work assisting lawyers by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, or preparing legal documents. Incumbents conduct research to support a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense, or to initiate legal action. The work is challenging and incredibly rewarding. Location:
19th Judicial Circuit – includes St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee, and Indian River counties. Salary:
$17.79 per hour Job Responsibilities/Examples of Work May Include: Entering data timely and accurately into statewide databases. Filing pleadings and other legal documents with the clerk of court. Drafting of pleadings, and other legal documents. Maintaining electronic case files Performs related work as required and assist with all other office duties as needed. Minimum Requirements:
Completion of a training program to become a legal assistant, a paralegal, a legal paraprofessional or a lawyer's or attorney's assistant; or a degree or certificate in legal technology, legal administration, legal studies or allied legal services; or a associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in allied legal services; or two years of experience involving paralegal work; or two years of experience in legal secretarial work.
