Associate Counsel - New Jersey (Remote) at GEICO. This role defends lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts and other first-party insurance defense matters. The position is with GEICO Staff Counsel located in Piscataway, NJ, and is remote. Base pay range

$112,750.00/yr - $186,550.00/yr Responsibilities

Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing Basic Qualifications

2 to 6+ years of experience in related field litigation in insurance defense and/or personal injury Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED Admission to the New Jersey Bar REQUIRED Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and meet licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) where applicable Must be able to travel as required, including trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting and multi-tasking skills Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information Preferred Qualifications

Civil litigation experience Insurance defense-related litigation experience Ability to communicate professionally in person, by telephone, and in writing Location

Remote Annual Salary

$112,750.00 - $186,550.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Final offer will consider factors including the scope of responsibilities, candidate experience, education, location, and market considerations.
