Overview
Champion Windows - System Administrator
As the IT System Administrator, you will provide expert level user support and customer service on all company-supported devices, networks and applications. They will also be able to support Virtual Servers hosted in Hyper-V and VMWare, having experience in backup technologies, such as Veeam and Barracuda.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Responsibilities
• Configure and maintain virtual servers, with proficiency in Hyper-V and VMware environments. Familiarity with high-availability clusters is preferred. • Monitor file shares and cluster shared volumes to ensure optimal performance. • Conduct system audits of backup infrastructure to verify recoverability. • Configure and maintain server backup utilities (experience with Veeam or Barracuda is a plus). • Set up and respond to network monitoring alerts, diagnosing and repairing issues promptly. Create additional alerts to effectively monitor customer environments when necessary. • Utilize PowerShell scripting and remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools (prior experience is advantageous). • Apply expertise in Linux and database servers, with a bonus skill set in on-premise-to-cloud migrations. • Address escalated technical support requests with urgency, providing remote and onsite assistance. Resolve complex issues beyond the scope of Tier II and III technicians. • Proactively identify recurring issues and trends, implementing preventative solutions. • Thoroughly document all relevant information and operational procedures in company portal. • Ability to perform all administrative duties for server virtualization, Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Entra and Microsoft Azure. • Configure and maintain VoIP telephone systems. • Troubleshoot network issues-including wired, wireless, and VPN connectivity problems. • Manage all administrative tasks for server virtualization, Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft Azure. • Perform administrative duties using Mobile Device Management (MDM) software for mobile devices (familiarity with Meraki MDM and Microsoft Intune is desirable). Configure application packages for deployment via MDM. • Mentor and provide guidance to Support Technicians on escalated or complex user issues. • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to address after-hours emergencies. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MFA and SSO configurations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate MFA and SSO into existing systems. • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a System Administrator or similar role. • Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and networks (LAN, WAN). • Strong knowledge of Virtual server environments using Hyper V and VMWare. • Familiarity with system security measures, including intrusion detection and data recovery. • Ability to create scripts in languages like Python or Perl. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Excellent communication skills. • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and protocols. • Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange in both on prem and Entra/Azure environments. • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision. • Understanding and experience with mobile device management, configuration and deployment using MDM systems like Meraki and Intune. • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting VoIP telephone systems.
Education/Certification: • BA degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. • Professional certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure, Security, etc.)
