IT Analyst/Programmer II
NCCU Public Administration Overview North Carolina Central Universitys Information Technology Services (ITS) seeks an IT Analyst/Programmer II to support the mission through design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise?level applications, interfaces, automation, and integrations. This position works as part of the Enterprise Applications and Development Services team, collaborating with campus constituents and vendors. Primary Responsibilities and Duties Develop and automate outbound and inbound data feeds from/to the ERP system and perform programming tasks using SQL/PL/SQL, APIs, and other technologies as required. Complete technical tasks related to ERP systems implementation, development, maintenance, enhancement, automation, and support, with emphasis on business process improvement and efficiencies. Serve as a technical resource for the Enterprise Applications and Development Services department, ITS, and campus constituents; research and troubleshoot issues submitted via the helpdesk. Ensure appropriate testing in collaboration with technical and functional staff prior to production; communicate with users, ITS staff, and vendors to resolve issues. Collaborate as a contributing team member to provide technical guidance for administrative solutions. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Minimum of three years of experience in IT roles developing and supporting software in database environments. Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL is required. Unix and Java knowledge is preferred. Experience with enterprise applications (e.g., Ellucian Banner 8/9, Argos, Postman, NextGen, AppWorx, N2N Illuminate, Windows, Git/GitHub, Subversion) is desirable. Ability to learn new technologies and contribute to implementing new or enhanced solutions aligned with university goals. Excellent research, analysis, and critical thinking skills; strong database query, system administration, and problem-solving capabilities. Strong oral and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Self?motivated, detail?oriented, able to prioritize in a high?pressure environment; team?oriented with strong customer service orientation. Ability to interpret internal/external customer needs and translate into effective technical solutions.
Minimum Education/Experience Bachelors degree in information systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of experience in applications programming with intermediate to complex database queries.
