Overview
Shipping Associate (Must Have shipping/warehouse functions, SAP & Microsoft Office) Location: San Diego, CA | Duration: 12 Months | Total Hours/week: 40 | 1st Shift | Client: Medical Devices Company | Job Category: Industrial | Level of Experience: Entry - Level | Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders or GC EAD or OPT or CPT) Work shift: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Must Haves On Resume : Prior experience in shipping/warehouse functions (especially international coordination, if possible) or in SAP. Responsibilities
Will primarily be responsible for routine tasks with limited judgment required. Pulls materials from inventory locations and receives general instructions on work assignments. Packages domestic and international customer orders for shipment and processes them using automated or manual carrier shipping systems. Prepares daily shipments by stocking shipping supplies and keeping the warehouse orderly and organized. Tracks shipment supplies and notifies management when replenishment is required. Performs materials management tasks, including pulling components for production and cycle counting as required.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Sorts customer orders, selects products from inventory, verifies accuracy, and prepares goods for shipment in accordance with product requirements. Packs orders requiring dry ice or other special handling as directed. Processes outbound customer orders using automated carrier systems or manual methods. Replenishes consumable shipping supplies and maintains a clean, organized work environment (workstations, cold rooms, warehouses, etc.). Manages consumable inventories and communicates shortages to appropriate staff. Maintains records of merchandise shipped (e.g., Transfer Orders, Shipping Letters of Instructions, Export Declarations). Picks up and delivers materials as directed; signs for received materials and resolves discrepancies with packing slips. May apply product labeling for materials and deliver materials to appropriate personnel. Participates in required regulatory training and brings compliance questions to management. Assists in preparation of shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments. Communicates daily progress and notifies supervisors of issues promptly. Maintains shipping and warehouse areas in a clean and orderly manner. May operate a forklift and/or Company vehicle as directed; maintains security programs for shipment processing. Provides accurate, timely, and courteous service to customers; adheres to EH&S policies and procedures; contributes to safety in the work area. Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge And Skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other software packages. Strong attention to detail. Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Education And Experience
High school Diploma and 1-3 years’ experience in materials distribution (shipping/receiving/inventory control) or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Physical Demands
Ability to lift 20-30 pounds unassisted. Work Environment
