The Safety Security Officer/Residential Aide is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all clients, staff, and the property around the facility in a homeless shelter. $19.65 hourly
Responsibilities
Perform daily inspections of all clients rooms Escort clients to appointments as needed Interact with and monitor clients behavior, maintaining good rapport and encouraging compliance with policies Control access at the main entrance by screening all clients and visitors using magnetometer/x-ray machine to prevent weapons entry De-escalate crisis situations and document interventions Conduct hourly rounds throughout the facility Respond to incidents Assist with client intake processes Manage client property, including logging and storage Complete logs, incident reports, and documentation Coordinate with police, fire department, and other responders as needed Perform administrative duties, monitor surveillance, and fire alarm systems Participate in fire safety procedures and evacuations Ensure safety of equipment Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Prior security experience NY State Security Guard License and current 8-hour annual certificate Fire Guard License preferred Excellent communication skills Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred Flexible schedule including weekends and overtime
