Overview
AVP, Claims Manager – Professional Liability – up to $210,000. A leading insurance carrier is looking to hire an AVP, Claims Manager – Professional Liability. In this leadership role, you will manage a team of 5 claims professionals handling mid to complex professional liability claims (including Legal E&O, MPL and D&O cases). You will act as a technical referral point for complex claims, coverage and litigation matters within PL and drive team performance. Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of 5 claims professionals handling mid to complex professional liability claims (Legal E&O, MPL, D&O). Act as a technical referral point for complex claims, coverage and litigation matters within Professional Liability. Drive performance of the claims team and promote effective claim handling and outcomes. Qualifications
5+ years of leadership experience within professional liability claims (E&O, D&O, or related PL leadership/technical backgrounds considered). Experience with Legal E&O, Financial Institutions (FI) and Private D&O claims is highly beneficial. Ability to drive performance and grow a claims team, including managing JD law-qualified senior claims examiners. Extensive exposure to litigation and coverage investigation essential – including large loss PL policies. Experience working closely with Legal/Claims Counsel and cross-functional internal/external teams. JD Law degree is essential to be considered. Location & Schedule
This position requires a hybrid schedule from NYC or NJ. Remote candidates or other offices are not eligible. Compensation & Growth
