POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for set up/break down, cleaning, monitoring, and recording the operation of assigned machinery/equipment. Additional duties will be to follow all applicable production processes to operate assigned machinery/equipment and meet or exceed daily product production requirements.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Have the capability to learn and to operate select machinery and equipment within the boundaries of provided training, and available instructional manuals. Included will be the ability to tear down and reassemble machinery/equipment as trained.
Follow all required steps to completely validate and produce a high-quality product.
Collaborate with quality control to perform in-process checks and ensure product conformity.
Implement job assignment promptly to conduct product testing expeditiously without compromising quality.
Plan for efficient pre/post- and between-test time utilization.
Adhere to existing corporate policies and procedures in the Production Department, including safety, cGMP's, GDP (good documentation practices), and good housekeeping practices.
Decrease product variability through proper equipment preparation and conduct all assigned work in compliance with established standard operating procedures.
Meet or exceed daily production requirements adhering to product specifications as set by production management.
Maintain neat, concise, and accurate records of all associated documentation.
Accurately measure and dispense raw materials according to formulation requirements.
Operate blending equipment to mix ingredients and achieve specified product characteristics.
Monitor and adjust blending processes to ensure consistency and quality.
Conduct equipment checks, cleaning and maintenance to uphold operational efficiency.
Perform other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
A large percentage of the time is spent in the production area where noise level can be moderate to high
Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free manufacturing environment
Requirements
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma (or equivalent).
6 plus months working in a food manufacturing environment or a related field preferred.
Familiar with basic tools and hardware preferred.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate in English via speaking, writing, and reading.
Must be able to read, understand and follow directions given, understand Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and maintain high quality workmanship.
Ability to use computers for data entry, and labor reporting as trained.
Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands and occasionally with short notice.
Excellent problem solving.
Basic familiarity with computerized systems and basic software applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach for extended periods.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Push/Pull up to 300 lbs.
Ability to operate a pallet jack (manual and/or electric).
