Heavy Equipment Operator Job at Waste Connections in Carlsbad

We are excited to announce an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at the Halfway Facility in Carlsbad, NM. This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions without the need for travel or per diem. Enjoy a range of family benefits, a 401k plan, and paid vacation time.

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000+ DOE ($20-$24+/hr.)

Schedule:

• Day Shift position with a 6 Days On, 3 Days Off rotation.
• For applicants coming from out of the area, housing/man camps are provided, with a 14 Days On, 7 Days Off rotation.
• Standard working hours are 5:30 am to 5:30 pm (Night Shift available from 5:30 pm to 5:30 am).

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, and ADT haul trucks, contributing to daily operations at the facility.
• Oversee water control tasks such as monitoring the customer truck wash rack, operating diesel-driven pumps, oil skimming, and assisting with client off-loading.
• Perform SWD duties including tank, pump, and well maintenance, along with basic labor and cleaning tasks. You will also be responsible for running reports and monitoring oil field waste treatment operations. Mechanic experience or familiarity with mechanical systems, as well as large plant maintenance, is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Willingness to work outside in all types of weather
• Basic computer skills
