Logistics Technician - 2nd Shift (Project Management) Logistics Technician - 2nd Shift (Project Management) Faribault Foods Inc., the leading food manufacturing plant located in Rita Ranch, is looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Logistics Technician/Forklift Operator to join our line supply team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be operating a forklift while ensuring efficiency and safety. Summary : Receives Raw Material, ships Finished Goods, and handles/moves Raw Material/Finished Goods with consistency of quality, accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Supplies the proper materials and ingredients to the production line and pulls finished product from the line for placement into the warehouse. Maintains the count integrity of the inventory by using a systematic cycle counting process to count stock items within the warehouse, and works to correct discrepancies in SAP. Coordinates activities involving support of other business units in order to meet and/or exceed the business units KPIs. Responsibilities Process inbound loads accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate Accounting efficiency. Inspect and monitor the unloading of all Raw Materials; verify counts and lot numbers; notify the Logistics Department, Purchasing and Quality Assurance of rejection of contaminated loads. Interface with Accounting on receipt and shipment issues. Determine specific locations, print barcode labels, label pallets, and transport pallets to the appropriate warehouse location. Unload/load pallets to transport to the staging area; check packing lists/bills of lading for discrepancies; complete appropriate paperwork. Proactively bring Raw Material/Finished Goods issues to the Logistics Department and interface with Quality Assurance, Production and Purchasing on production-related problems when unable to resolve. Provide materials and ingredients to the production line in a timely and efficient manner and ensure proper workflow in Raw Materials/Finished Goods to meet production and internal requirements. Maintain inventory accuracy physically and within the warehouse management system. Perform case picking for customer orders and hand stacking for product sorting and special skid building; ensure Finished Goods are properly stored, staged, loaded and shipped; process customer returns timely and accurately. Resolve problems to maintain consistency in receiving Raw Material and shipping Finished Goods. Perform cycle counts using SAP as required and report results to the Logistics Supervisor; perform warehouse maintenance to consolidate finished product and raw materials while maintaining FIFO. Perform basic Shipping/Receiving functions on computer systems (printing customer orders, bills of lading, packing slips) and verify product put away and inventory and lot status. Make recommendations to the Logistics Department and Quality Assurance for quality and process improvements. Perform and complete a daily forklift pre-operation inspection; report any major problems to the Logistics Manager. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area following company SOPs and GMPs; support and participate in safety activities to achieve departmental and plant-wide goals. Adhere to all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety rules.
Qualifications
Experience in logistics operations, including inbound/outbound material handling and warehouse activities. Forklift operation experience with OSHA-certified forklift license or certification in progress; ability to maintain certification. Ability to work 2nd shift and operate safely in an industrial environment. Familiarity with SAP or similar warehouse management systems and cycle counting processes. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety standards. Good communication skills and ability to interface with Quality Assurance, Production, Purchasing, and Accounting.
