Application Development Analyst

(IS Apps Analyst 2) position performs complex information technology duties involved in the planning, development, testing, delivery, and support of applications and IT services for the Information Technology Division of the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD). Develops, defines, and executes project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, and deliverables for software development projects. Coordinates activities and tasks among project team members, other internal divisions, or vendor/subcontractor organizations as needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule and of the appropriate quality standards. Performs project tasks and analysis work for enhancements and/or issues related to custom developed and vendor applications. Tracks progress of development and testing and compiles status reports. Provides support for change control tracking and documentation. Participates as directed in projects and initiatives with Police IT and other components of the Police department. Performs application testing, including the development of test plans and test cases, and troubleshooting of applications. Reviews current business processes and makes recommendations for process improvement. May perform other professional and administrative functions as needed. Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform the duties of the position at the appropriate level. Employees would typically have four (4) years of related experience with information technology and/or project management.

LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid Driver License

Note:

Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with project management principles and methodologies. Experience with installing and maintaining information technology systems and software.
