Temporary Analyst
Performs duties in assigned department in support of an organizational unit while gaining knowledge of Metro's business operations. Examples of Duties: Performs analytical work in support of a department's business. Participates in departmental projects and performs special assignments related to the department's business. Gathers and compiles data and prepares simple statistical and narrative reports. Generates correspondence, reports, and presentations. Assists in preparation of graphs, programs, and posters. Coordinates with other Metro departments and programs. Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out. May be required to perform other related job duties. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at an accredited institution of higher learning. Experience: None required. Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements: Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. Essential Knowledge: Knowledge of: Applicable business software applications. Research and report preparation methods. Skill in: Communicating effectively orally and in writing. Interacting professionally with various levels of Metro employees and outside representatives. Analyzing situations, identifying problems, and recommending solutions. Preparing reports and correspondence. Operating computers and general office equipment. Ability to: Meet tight time constraints and deadlines. Compile and analyze data. Understand, interpret, and apply policies and procedures. Follow oral and written instructions. Handle highly confidential information. Special Conditions: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
