Project Manager

We are seeking a Project Manager to perform various activities to support the success of the team in providing quality IT services to the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). TEKSynap is a fast growing high-tech company that understands both the pace of technology today and the need to have a comprehensive well planned information management environment. Responsibilities and Qualifications: Functional Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, responsible for all aspects of performance (i.e., technical, contractual, administrative, financial) of a specific project as part of a larger program effort. Consults with the customer to ensure conformity to contractual obligations, establishes and maintains technical and financial reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, organizes and assigns responsibilities to subordinates, oversees the successful completion of all assigned tasks, and assumes the initiative and provides support to marketing personnel in identifying and acquiring potential business. Additional Knowledge Areas Preferred: Hands-on Information Technology project management experience overseeing projects that follow a traditional waterfall life cycle and/or Agile life cycle approach. Four (4) or more years prior hands-on experience creating IT project schedules in Microsoft Project or Smartsheet. Demonstrated familiarity with technology product management best practices and concepts. Intermediate to expert level of experience with Microsoft products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio. Strong oral (speak fluent English) and written skills and experience interacting with and presenting to senior leaders, contract officers etc. within an organization. Strong skills in the following key areas including strategic thinking, multi-tasking, negotiation, conflict management, time management, planning and executing to a defined schedule/budget. Prior Federal, State government IT project management experience. Prior experience working in a matrix environment. Minimum/General Experience: Six (6) years of experience performing complex functional activities of the project by providing management and technical direction to personnel focusing on a particular project within a set of projects supporting an overall program. Under limited supervision, responsible for specific aspects of project performance (i.e., technical, contractual, administrative, financial). Manages and supervises personnel involved in all aspects of project activity, organizes and assigns responsibilities to subordinates and oversees the successful completion of all assigned tasks. Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree and Active/current PMP certification. Seven (7) years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
