SALARY
The minimum salary is
$23.339 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 517

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform sub-professional engineering work in the coordination and inspection of the engineering aspects of new construction, sanitary sewers, wastewater treatment plant, traffic, and drainage projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education in a related field
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
Ability to write technical reports and project descriptions is preferred but not required
Ability to use AutoCAD or other computer-aided design software is preferred but not required
Additional years of related education may substitute for years of related experience
Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Schedules and conducts field tests, inspections and/or investigations to ensure contractor conformance with the permitted construction documents and/or to collect data that are used to evaluate compliance with Lexington Fayette Urban County Government regulations, procedures and standards
Reviews invoices and analyzes engineering plans, specifications, documents, estimates, submittals, and permits
Creates and issues official communication including notices of inspection and letters of non-compliance, violation, and affidavits of release
Maintain various databases depending on area of assignment
Research, analyze data, prepare reports
Answers questions and concerns from the public, contractors, city council and other LFUCG departments
Provides technical support for crew equipment, inventory and training needs
Draft and issue permits
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Valid driver's license
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
