Parts Counter Associate

ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service

while supporting the service and body shop teams.

Previous parts counter or dealership experience preferred but not required

Job Summary:

The Parts Counter Associate assists customers and technicians in locating and ordering vehicle parts, ensures inventory accuracy, and supports the parts department operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist retail customers and shop staff in selecting required parts professionally and efficiently

Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials

Answer phone calls, provide quotes, and relay parts availability

Notify necessary parties when special orders arrive

Track back-ordered parts and maintain accurate inventory records

Pull, fill, and tag orders for service or delivery

Review body shop estimates for accuracy

Manage billing and accounts payable related to parts orders

Maintain organization, cleanliness, and stock rotation in the parts department

Maintain professionalism, integrity, and high-quality service at all times

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

Parts department experience preferred

Strong computer, phone, and organizational skills

Knowledge of automotive software preferred

Ability to read and interpret manuals, safety rules, and instructions

Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. and handle physical aspects of the job

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Professional appearance and work ethic

Working Conditions:

Work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor activity in an auto shop environment

Daily walking, standing, and occasional lifting required

Must be available to work full-time, including possible weekends as needed
