Primary Purpose The Director of School Improvement is responsible for leading, coordinating, and implementing strategies that drive continuous improvement. This position provides leadership in analyzing student performance data, developing action plans, and supporting principals and instructional staff to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications Education/Certification Master's Degree in education or related field, preferred Principal Certification Special Knowledge/Skills Proven experience in campus or district-level leadership with a record of improving student outcomes. Ability to build strong relationships and effectively coach principals and instructional staff. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of Tier 1 instruction and high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). Knowledge of strategic planning, continuous improvement cycles, and systems thinking. Familiarity with instructional coaching models (Get Better Faster, Leverage Leadership, etc.). Understanding of content-area standards (TEKS) and assessment alignment. Strong ability to interpret policies and procedures and synthesize data effectively Proven success implementing school improvement plans or turnaround strategies. Direct involvement with the Effective Schools Framework (ESF) and Targeted Improvement Plans (TIPs) - preferred Experience

Minimum 5 years of successful Principal Experience District Leadership experience preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of school improvement initiatives aligned with district goals, TEA requirements, and the Effective Schools Framework. Ensure the use of high-quality instructional materials and aligned assessments across campuses. Develop campus leaders' skills in observing instruction, giving feedback, and leading PLCs. Create systems and tools for campuses to sustain continuous improvement beyond direct support. Partner with principals to design and implement strategies that improve STAAR performance across grade levels and subjects. Support campuses in implementing evidence-based practices to address the needs of emergent bilinguals, economically disadvantaged students, and other special populations. Monitor subgroup performance data and guide leaders in adjusting instruction and interventions accordingly. Conduct calibration walks and instructional rounds with leadership teams to ensure consistent expectations. Monitor progress regularly and adjust strategies to keep campuses on track to exit low-performing status. Provide professional learning aligned to ESF levers, especially Lever 5: Effective Instruction. Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Campus Improvement Plans (CIP) and Targeted Improvement Plans (TIP), ensuring alignment with district and state requirements. Continuously evaluate progress and refine strategies to improve academic outcomes and overall school effectiveness.

Intended Outcomes and Success Measures

Campuses assigned to the director demonstrate measurable improvement in STAAR performance. Gap-closing for emergent bilingual, economically disadvantaged, and special populations is evident in data. Growth targets are consistently met or exceeded. Improvement in campus accountability ratings.
