Database Administrator
Location: Tallahassee, FL | Duration: 8 months | Onsite
Scope of Services:
The DBA team ensures that application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet department standards. The candidate will assist in designing, developing, amending, and optimizing schemas to meet system requirements. Understanding and developing database and warehousing design across multiple platforms is crucial. The candidate will work as part of a team to develop a data architecture that supports departmental needs and meets security standards.
Primary Job Duties/Tasks: Perform daily operational and database administration activities Plan, design, implement, and support database structures Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation Perform SQL Code reviews Assist with training and mentoring other technical staff Perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration and performance management Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS upgrades and catalog maintenance Advanced knowledge of JCL and z/OS integrated platform In-depth knowledge of CA GEN, ISPF, ASG Scheduler, and COBOL Solid working knowledge of Oracle and MSSQL application integration Working knowledge of Windows Servers and Azure Experience:
The candidate must have 15 years of combined experience in database administration for:
DB2 for z/OS SQL Server 2008R2, 2012 Oracle 10g and above Experience with Federal/State/Government/Transportation Department integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
