Job Title: PART TIME -Registered Nurse (RN), LPN or CNA – Pediatric Dental Sedation Center
Department: Clinical
Reports To: Clinical Director / Sedation Provider
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN),LPN or CNA is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing dental procedures with sedation. This position involves assisting sedation providers, monitoring patients throughout sedation and recovery, and ensuring a supportive environment for both patients and families. The RN,LPN or CNA works on an as-needed basis to support clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform pre-operative assessments including reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and allergy information.
Assist sedation providers during administration of moderate or deep sedation.
Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs (heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, respiration) during procedures.
Manage airway and assist with emergency interventions if necessary.
Provide post-operative care, patient monitoring in recovery, and discharge instructions to parents/guardians.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain clinical supplies, emergency equipment, and medications.
Follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Communicate effectively with patients, parents, dental team members, and sedation providers.
Adhere to all sedation center policies, procedures, and protocols.
Qualifications:
Current BLS
Previous experience in pediatric nursing, procedural sedation, PACU, or critical care preferred
Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
Work Schedule:
PRN (as needed) basis
Weekday shifts primarily; occasional weekends depending on center schedule
Flexible availability preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and assist pediatric patients as needed
Ability to respond quickly to patient emergencies
