Degree in elementary education-related field Experience as a multiple subject teacher, preferably in one of SFSU’s partner school districts Experience working with student teachers through serving as a cooperating teacher, a student teaching supervisor, or equivalent Prior work in a supervisory role in a school district or university teacher education program Strong working knowledge of CTC Standards for Clinical Practice Knowledge of local school district structures and programs as relevant to placing and supporting student teachers General Responsibilities:
Identify and onboard Cooperating Teachers for Multiple Subject, PK-3, and Bilingual Authorization Match teacher candidates with cooperating teachers and maintain accurate placement records Provide training for cooperating teachers in accordance with CTC standards Coordinate process for onboarding and supporting intern teachers enrolled in credential program Provide training and oversight for student teaching supervisors Maintain records of student teaching supervision evaluation, in accordance with accreditation requirements Develop and maintain positive working relationships with partner school districts Ensure that the department meets CTC clinical practice standards for the Multiple Subject, PK-3 Early Childhood Specialist Instruction, and Bilingual authorization credentials Collaborate with department chair, staff, and faculty to maintain coherent and supportive teacher preparation pathways Professional Development Opportunities: SFSU supports faculty with professional development opportunities such as ongoing training through the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL).
