An employer is looking for a Patient Access Rep in the Emergency Room setting. This individual will be cross trained on Patient Access activities for patients throughout the Medical Center in different areas/"pods" of the Emergency Services area. Patient Access Representatives facilitate a positive patient experience by managing tasks such as insurance verification, benefits determination, and financial clearance. They handle responsibilities across Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Counseling, and more while maintaining all HIPAA compliance requirements. Strong social skills are essential for effective communication with patients and clinical staff in a demanding healthcare environment. This will be on site and must work every other weekend. The shift is 3-11:30pm.

Required Skills & Experience - 1+ years' experience in registration/patient access - Proficient with EMR software - Experience with insurance verifications/eligibility (IPA's, PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, etc) - HS Diploma or GED equivalent

Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Experience in the Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting - Proficient with Epic Software

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
