POSITION GOAL: Repair and maintain plumbing/heating systems, and maintain swimming pool and waste water treatment plants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance and technical support to building maintenance in general plumbing. Maintain swimming pool pump and filtration system. Maintain waste water treatment plants. Maintain and repair district utilities. Maintain and repair heating systems. Maintain and repair water distribution systems. Operate snow plow, skid loader and forklift as needed. Maintain the highest ethical behavior. Keep inventory of plumbing supplies. Assist others as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
High School diploma or equivalent. Five years' experience in the plumbing/heating field. Plumbing license or trade school equivalent. Backflow device testing certification or ability to acquire within 12 months. Possess or able to obtain a swimming pool and spa operator's license. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and safe driving record. Familiar with plumbing and building codes to ensure all work meets code requirements. Knowledgeable of safety regulations and procedures. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances. The person, while performing in this position, will be required to:
Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to talk and hear; Prolonged standing, crouching and reaching with hands and arms; and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in exhausting and uncomfortable positions; Have specific vision abilities, to include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus; Have good oral and written communication skills; and be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide; Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with proper equipment; Works inside and outside regardless of weather conditions; and will work near or with moving mechanical equipment; occasionally works in areas of temperature extremes and may have to work on roof units and other equipment regardless of weather conditions. Must be able to meet deadlines with critical time constraints.
