Insight Global is seeking a Leave Administrator for a healthcare client of ours in Berkeley, CA. We're seeking a seasoned Leave of Absence Specialist to join our HR operations team on a 5 to 6 month contract. This role support employees within a network of 16 healthcare and residential facilities across the East Bay Area, with onsite visits 1-2 days per week. You'll manage a high-volume caseload of employee leaves and workers' comp claims, ensuring compliance, empathy, and precision every step of the way.
Responsibilities • Manage ~50 active leave cases and ~20 workers' comp cases • Guide employees through leave processes and vendor coordination (UNUM/TotalLeaves) • Administer ADA accommodations and ensure compliance • Handle benefit premium calculations and payroll coordination • Complete and submit workers' comp forms to third-party vendors • Maintain accurate documentation and case tracking • Support ergonomic assessments and vendor recommendations • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and procurement teams • Provide onsite support across East Bay facilities (Berkeley, Oakland, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of California leave administration experience • Strong knowledge of ADA and reasonable accommodations • Proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) • Exceptional patience, empathy, and communication skills • Local to East Bay Area and available for onsite visits
Nice to Have Skills & Experience • Experience with UNUM and TotalLeaves case management systems • Familiarity with ergonomic assessments and vendor coordination • Background in healthcare or residential care environments
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
